Financial Analyst/Controller for Hungary - August 2023

For one of our clients we are looking for a Financial Analyst for Hungary

Project name: Power plant Gönyü (Hungary)

Project description: In order to fulfill the requirements settled between the EU, the German Government as Uniper’s Major Stakeholder and Uniper itself in course of Uniper’s financial stabilization, Uniper has (amongst other requirements) to divest it’s gas-fired power plant located in Gönyü/Hungary. The project is timely limited and ends with the completion of the M&A transaction process.

Tasks:
 
  • Controlling and investigating the financial results on monthly, quarterly and annual basis, preparing Plan-Actuals deviation analysis for all relevant stakeholders (for UKW as legal owner and for the CCGT Fleet as business owner)
  • Performance confirmation and/or payment release of invoices
  • Providing energy-related accruals to Accounting for the closings, besides providing information for provisions (creation, release, utilization)
  • Preparing Forecasts and MTP planning (Gross Margin planning, Cost planning, Personnel planning, Financial result planning, Tax calculations)
  • Continuously analysing, monitoring and optimizing the financial performance of the power plant
  • Providing inputs and participation in the Impairment Test process and long-term planning
  • Investment controlling (Submitting project approval forms to the Fleet, project creation, monitoring of postings, arranging signings of activation documents)
  • Financial and operational data submission to Hungarian Energy Office, Central Office of Statistics, Hungarian National Bank
  • First point of contact to the external service provider with regards to accounting-, tax- and treasury-related questions

Required skills:
  • University degree in Business Administration is desirable.
  • Several years relevant experience and familiarity in the relevant financial fields
  • International business experience/Generation related experience
  • Strong analytical skills and analytical mindset
  • Technical understanding and business acumen
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
  • lnterpersonal skills, acting comfortably in varying cultural environments.
  • High level of integrity and reliability
  • See the overall group benefit whilst complying with the legal framework & requirements
  • Be able to cooperate independently from the legal unit and across functions
  • Strong English and Hungarian language skills are required, other languages ​​will be plus (German).

Duration: 07.2023 - 06.2024 (with potential prolongation until 12.2024)
Location: mainly remote, however the consultant should be at least 3-4 days onsite per month. Address: Gönyű office, Hungary (9071 Gönyű, Kossuth Lajos utca 2/A)
Capacity: 40 hours/week
