For one of our clients in the utilities industry we’re looking for a freelance IT Continuity Process & Lifecycle Management Consultant:
Project name: IT Continuity Process and Lifecycle Management
Project Description: The aim of the project is to harden the security of the client by staying compliant with the IT Continuity Lifecycle (decommissioning applications, reviewing existing Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, maintaining DR plans, advise on the execution of DR tests).

Task description

1. IT Continuity Process:

• Evaluation process definition and execution

• Analyse and provide recommendations for possible improvements to the client’s IT Continuity Process based on own expertise and available Best Practices on the market
• Advise process improvements
• Maintain increased adherence to the process
• Identify gaps in the process, present it to the client for a sign off
• Consult Support teams, Service Owner and Application Manager in solving identified gaps with the aim to improve the adherence to the process, identify deviations

• Provide professional consultancy to the teams and application owners in DR Plan creations (within online meetings)

• Provide professional consultancy and present best practices for architecture descriptions in applications
• Review existing DR Plans covering the aspects of feasibility and completeness
• Identify gaps in DR Plans and present them to the client for a sign off
• Consult the Support teams, Service Owner and the Application Manager in solving identified gaps

• Provide professional consultancy to the teams and application owners in DR Test executions

• Document problems in DR Test executions and present it to the client for a sign off
• Consult Support teams, Service Owner and Application Manager in solving identified gaps
• Provide consultancy for improvements for DR Plans

2. Decommissionings:

• Provide professional consultancy for decommissioning of applications

• Analyse and provide recommendations for possible improvements to Decommissioning framework based on own expertise and available Best Practices on the market
• Provide ideas for framework improvements and present them to the client for a sign off
• Consult the Support teams in terms of the client’s Decommissioning framework with the aim to improve the adherence to the process, identify deviations and potential risks resulting from the deviations
• Consult Support teams, Service Owner and Application Manager in solving identified gaps
