GDPR and Regulations consultant (w/m)

For one of our clients we're looking for a freelance GDPR and Regulations consultant to remotely support our client for 4+ months:

Core Responsibilities
  • Supporting activities related to Data Privacy team strategy on connecting with associations and regulators on privacy topics:
  • Manage GDPR stakeholder liaison strategy, in cooperation with geographic legal counsel, other functions and other legal team members including Global DP team to progress existing project plan
  • Provide data privacy/GDPR subject matter expertise and guidance, including good commercial contracting understanding
  • Interpret the law, guidance from DPA and put this in context to the business
  • Draft position papers, memos and white papers to help the client communicate with one voice
  • Collaborate and liaise with other workstream leads or business stakeholders as needed
  • Generate regular reports
Required Skills:
  • J.D. or equivalent
  • Proven qualification in law or government/international relations Demonstrated command of data privacy and related laws and regulations; experience with data privacy legal compliance and GDPR,
  • excellent writing skills with the ability to translate legal terms into plain language;
  • Min 5 years’ experience in a global company, preferably in technology and IT sector
  • Experience in global data privacy
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to work with a diverse group of people across multiple markets
  • Good understanding of technology and the related data privacy implications
  • Ability to draft submissions and external messages including speeches, public policy positions and technical documents
  • Ability to develop and manage internal communications and training;
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate company vision and policy,
  • Must have the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and work effectively remotely and within a global team;
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to interface with all levels of management and staff and to seek out areas of risk and priority;
  • Ability to consistently apply good judgment;
  • Builds and maintains a network of good working relationships both internally and externally;"
  • Storytelling skills
Nice to have Skills:
  • Knowledge of information technology, security and/or excellent commercial contracting expertise. Former dealing with regulators is a plus.
  • Confidence and credibility in dealing with internal management, senior personnel at outside counsel, data privacy regulators, and industry bodies;
Language Abilities: German and English (are must); Knoweldge in French, Spanish and/or Italian would be be an advantage;
