Project description: Hosting and Cloud Technologies (HaCT) optimization team defines the standards and evaluation framework to help monitor Azure resource utilization and optimize cost & other existing processes followed within HaCT. This project aims at optimizing all cloud azure hosting capabilities with primary focus around cost optimization and resource utilization.

Project description: Hosting and Cloud Technologies (HaCT) optimization team defines the standards and evaluation framework to help monitor Azure resource utilization and optimize cost & other existing processes followed within HaCT. This project aims at optimizing all cloud azure hosting capabilities with primary focus around cost optimization and resource utilization.
Tasks:
- Design and implement cost optimization strategy for Azure resources (IaaS & PaaS). Define a long term cost optimization roadmap and agree with the stakeholders, this should be carried out with Cloud best practices.
- Define guidelines for improving the sustainability of the hosting environment and implement them.
- Define and implement cost & resource utilization KPIs (Power Bi real time dashboards) and agree with the client.
- Review the recommendations provided by Microsoft azure advisor tool (cost, OE, performance) and implement them with the support of respective teams within HaCT.
- Liaise with all other HaCT teams and drive the operation excellence (process standardization and optimization).
- Define the azure resource reservation strategy and agree with the client.
- Continuously track technology trends that help optimize the Azure landscape (provided by the client) and provide feedback to the architecture team.
- Identify topics to advertise and promote with articles, blogs, videos in cloudworks hub (A central platform to share information about how we use cloud within the client).
Must have skills:
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud costing & Azure advisor
- Deep functional and technical knowledge of ITIL processes & Operational excellence
- Critical thinking and analysis of existing processes to provide feedback and guidance on continuous service improvement
- Basic understanding of Azure IaaS – Azure VMs & Azure PaaS services like ASE, Azure Web Apps, Azure functions, SQL PaaS, Azure Storage, APIM, azure cognitive services etc.
- Azure DevOps – Sprint grooming, planning, retrospective
- Experience in generating KPI reports
- Experience in building dashboards
- Team leadership skills – communication, organization, team work, customer orientation & ability to innovate
- Problem solving & interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
- Experience in creating reports & dashboards in Power Bi from various data sources (DB, REST APIs etc.)
- Working knowledge on MS Flows & PowerApps
- Experience in creating contents for knowledge sharing platforms like wiki / SharePoint
