For one of our clients we are looking for a Brand Manager with a life sciences background (key point is molecular biology)
Project description:
The service is requested as part of defined scientific communication and media projects in connection with our open innovation portal opnMe.com. The purpose of the project is to independently manage defined external (and potentially internal) digital communication for specific opnMe projects with the goal to achieve relevant awareness of and engagement with them.
Tasks:
Management of profile and social media contents development for defined opnMe projects
Management of concrete opnMe projects from the M2O, Collaboration (M4C, opn2EXPERTS, techMATCH), and the talents (opn2TALENTS) pillars. This includes generation of the scientific profiles as displayed on the opnMe web page and of relevant scientific contents for (digital) communication on organic and paid media.
This includes obtaining publication release for opnMe profiles including regulatory/legal and DR function review
Quality control and review on the web portal and control timely release of projects on the opnMe web interface in synch with the launch of communication activities.
3.2. Online seminar coordination
Planning of opnMe online seminars (colloquially referred to as “webinar”) with external and internal speakers and internal and external stakeholders which are required to set up the “webinar”. This also includes the independent planning of the set-up of the “seminar channel/platform” which is provided by an external IT agency and involves additional colleagues of the client. It also includes the planning of the set-up and monitoring of online registration process for external participants. Flank with suitable digital communication strategy (pre-, during and post-live posts and activities). Documentation of the campaign as part of powerpoint deck and presentation and discussion to opnMe communication team.
3.3. Event management for defined opnMe activities
Managing scientific abstract compilations and submissions
Creation of booths and layouts (with input from intern or external agencies)
Concept creation and delivery of collaterals such as flyers, info brochures.
Presentation compilations
Managing of compliance and publication release reviews according to local regulations and laws (following internal standard processes)
3.4. Defined testimonial creation / opnMe use cases - Communication on suitable internal and external channels
Manage testimonial and use case creations with external scientists who interacted as users with the opnMe portal: Generation of contacts and contents, translation into suitable communication stories, generation of output suitable for digital communication. Consent form management and documentation. Publication release management where required. The external represents client as an external and is introduced as such.
Creation of suitable communication materials supporting the effective dissemination of testimonials and use cases for various events and outlets.
3.5. Conduct a market research analysis to assess the impact of opnMe on reputation and talent attraction
Plan, and execution of a market research analysis to assess the impact of opnMe on the reputation of the client’s discovery research organization and beyond. It should also measure the impact of opnMe on talent attraction. The results will be presented to senior management and embedded into decision making documents.
3.6 Flanking activities
3.6.1 for social media
Management of opnMe social media content and copy generation
Promote defined opnMe projects
Promote posts featuring publications, testimonials, or use cases
Creation of pro-active proposals for new ideas and use cases
Management of opnMe social media approval process on internal release platform GAIN and communicate with Delivery Unit at client’s service center in Barcelona or with Corp. Affairs where required (following established internal processes)
Checking appropriate targeting for paid social media
Checking for timely delivery of social media posts on LinkedIn and potentially other social media channels in synch with release on the opnMe web portal.
Pixel management
Be contact person for LinkedIn account management
Quarterly reporting on digital communication impact
For all activities, provide subject matter expertise advice on coordination and steering of paid media campaigns of various digital communication channels. Target groups are scientists or other specialists from academia, biotech, and life science who focus on defined subjects, such as molecular biology, translational work, data science topics across various fields with links to either human or animal disease with unmet medical need.
3.6.2 for photography
Planning of photo sessions with scientists and external photographers.
For all, obtain relevant consents from persons featured publicly to adhere to EU GDPR regulations. (Following an internally established process)
3.6.3 for Adobe Analysis tracking
For all activities, Planning the generation of Adobe Analysis (AA) tracking links and integrate into selected communication materials (tracking links will be generated by brand manager or intern). Generate actionable insights based on predefined and novel KPIs with help of AA analyses provided by an Adobe analyst. Presentation of insights to opnMe communication team in opnMe meetings
3.6.4 for opnMe user follow-up
Proposal evaluation: Following-up on evaluation reviews and compilations of appropriate responses to declined scientists
Writing of scientific decline messages
Maintaining opnMe service email inbox and responding to external requests in a timely manner appropriately
Required skills/experience:
Degree in natural sciences or in life sciences. Alternatively, master’s degree in communication or similar with very good comprehension of molecular biology.
Proven professional track record in effectively communicating complex life science-related topics including pre-clinical science (focus on molecular biology, medicine, or chemistry) to target groups in academia, biotech, and pharma.
Creative person with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to navigate in rapidly changing and complex environment and adapt to different personalities.
Needs to be able to work independently and 100% remotely. Proactive mind-set.
Proven project management skills with success examples (which includes at least basic knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or other project management tools)
Multi-tasker with ability to work under tight timelines
Profound knowledge and experience with medical or scientific writing with focus on social media channels and digital publications and outlets. In addition, experience in market research and modern communication methods.
Ability to successfully use LLM or ChatGPT like programs
