For one of our clients in the energy sector, we are looking for a freelance PMO (Energy Infrastructure & Capacity Projects)
Project Name: CDP Second Wave The German federal government is planning, as part of the KWSG and the 2025 coalition agreement, to hold tenders for up to 20 GW of controllable capacity to strengthen security of supply and prepare for a capacity mechanism starting in 2028. As part of this so-called Second Wave, Uniper (NGPG) intends to develop a project cluster with at least 1 GW of new controllable capacities.
These capacities are intended to be offered under both Pillar 2 (Security of Supply) and Pillar 3 (Capacity Market). Bidding readiness must be ensured no later than Q1/2027. A total of two to four locations are planned, where implementation should be technically and economically feasible using technology-neutral solutions (CCGT = Combined Cycle Gas Turbines, OCGT = Open Cycle Gas Turbines, GM = Gas Motors). The specific packaging and allocation of assets to individual (internal or third-party) sites is still open. At least one location will be developed in Bavaria as part of the project. Implementation will follow Uniper governance standards (PMEF, Gate Model) and should enable a solid decision paper (SD submission) in accordance with Gate 4 requirements.
Scope of Services – The scope includes the following independently performed tasks:
Review and assessment of existing project documents in accordance with PMEF (Project Management Excellence Framework) guidelines to verify compliance, based on your own knowledge and experience, taking project goals and requirements into account
Creation and revision of key project documents (status report, risk analysis, communication plan) – based on PMEF guidelines and in consideration of project needs
Development of missing content and templates in line with PMEF, based on insights gained from the above tasks
Planning and facilitation of workshops with project participants to create the documents identified in tasks 1–3, based on PMEF and your own professional judgment regarding content, scope, and required quantity
Professional consulting of project participants regarding methodology and review of result quality
Structured storage and documentation of results according to Uniper project standards, and final handover to Uniper for further use
Must-haves:
At least 2 years of relevant experience in Project Management Office / Project Coordination
German-speaking with good English skills
Very good MS Office skills
Communicative personality
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with energy assets, especially power plants
Knowledge of document management
PMI knowledge
Visio skills
