For one of our clients in the pharma industry we are looking for a freelance React/TypeScript Engineer (with DevOps & AI focus)

Project Name: Frontend Application Development & AI Code Integration

Project Description: The project focuses on the independent technical development, refactoring, and containerization of responsive user interfaces. The objective is the technical integration of AI-generated frontend code into standardized application architectures, the setup of automated testing mechanisms, and the configuration of deployment pipelines within the provided environments.

Tasks:
Technical frontend development and refactoring
  • Execution of development and refactoring tasks for responsive web application user interfaces based on provided functional requirements and technical standards.
  • Technical translation of requirements from non-technical stakeholders, specifically scientists and subject matter experts, into formal technical specifications and suitable frontend implementations.
Execution of API and security integrations
  • Technical integration of backend REST APIs and the configuration of client’s provided authentication and authorization mechanisms into the applications.
Application containerization and CI/CD configuration
  • Execution of application containerization and the technical configuration of deployment parameters through CI/CD pipelines to the provided environments.
Design of automated testing and quality pipelines
  • Design and technical implementation of automated testing frameworks (unit, component, and functional testing).
  • Technical integration of code-quality checks, dependency tracking, security checks, and code-review mechanisms within the CI/CD pipeline utilizing the provided source-code management systems.
Refactoring of AI-generated code
  • Execution of technical reviews, validation, and refactoring of AI-generated frontend code to improve functionality, maintainability, security, and architectural alignment prior to production use.
Creation of architectural templates and agentic instructions
  • Creation and technical structuring of reusable component-based application templates and shared frontend UI components for recurring implementation patterns.
  • Drafting of reusable coding-agent instructions and agentic skills to support the structured transition of generated application code into the provided deployment templates.
Drafting of technical documentation
  • Creation of comprehensive technical documentation covering application architecture, dependencies, configuration, testing parameters, and deployment instructions.

Deliverables: Creation of a final handover report covering the delivered source code, deployment artifacts, test results, known limitations, and remaining technical risks. All documentation, code, and technical templates regarding the above-mentioned tasks will be subsequently handed over to client for final review, approval, and further usage.

Essential Technical "Must-Haves":
  • Frontend Mastery: Deep expertise in React and TypeScript for developing and refactoring responsive web applications using component-based architectures.
  • DevOps & Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker and deployment through Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines to OpenShift environments.
  • API & Security: Proven ability to integrate REST APIs and implement provided authentication/authorization mechanisms.
  • Testing & Quality: Strong background in designing and implementing automated testing (unit, component, functional), as well as code-quality, dependency, and security checks within the pipeline.

Key Differentiators (What makes a profile stand out):
  • AI-Assisted Development: The candidate must be able to review, validate, and refactor frontend code generated by AI tools to improve functionality, maintainability, and security. They should treat AI output as a starting point, not production-ready code.
  • Agentic Skills: Experience developing reusable coding-agent instructions and agentic skills to help transition generated code into standard templates.
  • Cross-Functional Translation: Proven ability to work directly with non-technical application creators (like scientists) to translate their requirements into technical specifications.
  • Backend Knowledge: Experience with Python-based backend services, particularly FastAPI, is highly beneficial.
  • Documentation: Strong technical writing skills to create architectural documentation and final handover reports detailing source code, artifacts, testing, and remaining technical risks.
