SAP IBP/ePPDS consultant - October 2026
For one of our clients in the FMCG industry we are looking for a freelance SAP IBP/ePPDS consultant
Project name: HCB Next Generation Planning
Overview: The service is requested as part of the project HCB Next Generation Planning. The project has the purpose of replacing the existing SAP APO Demand Planning (DP) and Supply Network Planning (SNP) functionalities with SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP). Additionally, substitution of an internally developed production planning solution with an SAP ePPDS sidecar solution is part of the project scope.
Background: An external specialist is necessary for certain parts of the project because the required expertise in SAP IBP and SAP ePPDS sidecar implementation is not available internally. Therefore, the external contractor has a unique position compared to the client's internal project staff and provides significantly different services than the internal staff. The focus in SAP IBP should be on the module supply & response.

Tasks:
- Analysis of existing planning processes and system functionalities within the current landscape, including the creation of a final analysis report covering all deliverables and its handover to client for review and future use.
- Evaluation of supply planning and production planning requirements, including the handover of the assessment to client for review and further use.
- Design of target planning processes within SAP IBP and SAP ePPDS sidecar solution
- System configurations in SAP IBP – Supply and Response
- Setup of system configurations in SAP ePPDS, including master data and planning-relevant objects
- Implementation of system-related enhancements within SAP IBP and SAP ePPDS environments
- Execution of integration scenarios between connected systems. For now the involved systems are R/3, S/4 Hana, IBP and ePPDS sidecar related.
- Testing of implemented functionalities and system integrations, including the identification, documentation, and verification of resolved software defects.
- Validation of system behavior and planning results against defined scenarios, functional specifications, and pre-defined acceptance criteria.
- Identification of inconsistencies, defects and optimization potentials
- Preparation of technical and functional documentation
- Maintenance and adjustment of system configurations throughout the project lifecycle, including the implementation of required configuration changes in SAP IBP and SAP ePPDS based on validated requirements and the documentation of all system modifications.
- Conducting of system-related sessions focusing on process understanding and system usage
- Provision of analysis results, solution concepts and documentation artifacts
- The service provision has the goal to enable the implementation of SAP IBP and SAP ePPDS as replacement solutions and to establish an integrated planning environment.
