For one of our clients we are looking for a Director Public & Government Affairs – Human Pharma

Project Description:
The client is looking to shape a favorable environment for the Human Pharma Business by creating a new policy environment and implementing outreach programs to shape global policies. Due to no available expertise on international health policy trends and dynamics within the Corporate Affairs division, the client in search of an external in order to drive the client’s Public and Government Affairs plan in specific disease Areas.

Tasks:
  • Policy and stakeholder analysis: Mapping the policy environment and implement outreach programs to shape global and pan-regional policy in order to drive business objectives for the TAs (Therapeutic Areas) in Human Pharma. Mapping will be based on the client’s existing policies and the Contractor experience in policy creation.
  • Strategic counsel: Providing strategic counsel to Senior Management by shaping brand plans with a policy perspective and drive budget discussions with the relevant internal stakeholders. The strategic counsel is based on the Contractor’s expertise in international health policy trends and dynamics.
  • Overall policy coordination: Identifying key policy trends and opportunities; potential solutions; and developing initiatives that can be cascaded to the regional/country (R/OPU)(Please write our all abbreviations out once) level. Identification will be based on the Contractor’s policy creation expertise and experience.
  • Alliance building and policy-shaping: Shaping outreach programs to position the client in specific disease spaces to the ability to acquire license to operate, support future launches and drive growth. This will be based on alliance building projects that will focus on awareness raising initiatives, evidence generation, policy shaping and advocacy campaigns
  • Support Public Affairs capabilities & execution worldwide: Developing ready to use policy advocacy materials for localization which follow the principles Corporate Affairs.
  • All work is conducted in line with Boehringer-Ingelheim’s business objectives, according to specification from the Therapeutic Areas,Asset Teams, other relevant departments (Healthcare Affairs, Patient Engagement, Health Economics and Outcomes Research) as well as in line with external stakeholders’ expectations.
  • All materials and documentation, and documented discussions will be in MS Office & Internal Drives and handed over to the client for review and for further usage.

The requirements are listed below:
  • University Master Degree in Life Sciences, Political Science/Public Policy, Communications, Health Economics, Marketing or equivalent qualification.
  • Long-term experience in Public Affairs, including experience in therapeutic-area specific engagement across the value chain (from pre-launch timeline and for to mature products)
  • Deep insights of the pharmaceutical industry, therapeutic areas and relevant global/local policy trends. Affiliate experience and/or agency experience, will all be considered a plus.
  • Therapeutic area expertise within either cardio-metabolic, oncology, rare diseases and CNS will be a plus.
  • Business know-how in delivering national or global policy initiatives with demonstrated success
  • Global mindset, with a strong sense of business acumen and a passion for bringing value locally to the client’s Operating Units
  • A true project leader with a co-creative spirit and the ability to build strong trustworthy interpersonal connections with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
